Boarding Policy
Terms & Conditions
Please take a few minutes to read the following guidelines. They will help you to better understand the boarding service and minimize any unnecessary misunderstanding. Thanks for entrusting your beloved pets in our care.
Hamster Lodge™ assures that best care will be provided for all boarding pets. However, small
animals are easily stressed by a change of environment. They may display signs such as inappetence, decreased activity level, soft stools or diarrhea, or agitated behavior during boarding.
Hamster Lodge™ accepts no liability for anything that happens to your pet while boarding or in transit to and from Hamster Lodge™. Hamster Lodge™ is also not to be held responsible for any abnormal behavior detected, and will accept no liability for any unforeseen circumstances leading to the injury, sickness and demise of the pet. By making this reservation you are waiving all rights to pursue legal action.
Emergency
Vet Care and Bills
If the pet is unwell due to some unforeseen circumstances during boarding and, in Hamster Lodge™'s opinion, requires veterinarian attention, the owner will be notified.
If owner is not contactable, you, the owner hereby authorize Hamster Lodge™ personnel to make medical decisions until we can be in communication. The pet will be brought to the veterinarian clinic of Hamster Lodge™’s choice, unless otherwise instructed before the boarding period.
Pet owner/customer is responsible for vet bills including transportation expenses regardless of cause of vet visit. This also includes scheduled veterinarian consultation during the boarding period. Any expenses must be reimbursed to Hamster Lodge™’ upon discharge of the pet.
Health disclosure, Vaccines + other health care
Any medical conditions, behavioural issues, dietary needs or special requirements must be disclosed at the time of booking. It is important to provide Hamster Lodge™ with complete information about the pet's health history, including any recent or recurring health issues such as regular gas or stasis episodes in rabbits. We cannot protect your pet with no information so even if it seems irrelevant it needs to be disclosed.
Pet owners are solely responsible for ensuring that their pets' vaccinations are up-to-date. Any failure to do so may put the pet at risk, and Hamster Lodge™ shall not be held liable for any such risks.
Mandatory vaccine: All rabbits must be vaccinated for RHDV/RHDV2. RHDV vaccine certificate is required to make a reservation. Vaccination must be at least 2 weeks before arrival.
Other recommendation: Hamster Lodge is a mite-free boarding premise. It is also recommended for bunnies to apply Revolution to prevent mites. This is to safeguard your pet by preventing transmission of mites within the boarding premises.
Reservation, Payment & Fee Adjustment
Reservation: To reserve a spot at Hamster Lodge™, a deposit equivalent to a one-day boarding fee is mandatory. This deposit becomes non-refundable in any circumstances if the pet owner chooses to cancel the boarding session.
Payment: Our boarding fees are calculated on a daily basis, not per night. Payment is due upon boarding or upon admission of the pet. Failure to pay will result in rejection of the pet's boarding.
Adjustment: Hamster Lodge™ reserves the right to adjust the boarding fee if the disclosure of the pet's health or behavioral conditions during boarding is inappropriate, resulting in an underquoted boarding fee.
Reservation Changes
If you need to extend your reservation while your pet is already at Hamster Lodge™, the rate of stay will be calculated as if the extra days were a new reservation (without a reservation fee).
Please be aware that if you need to shorten your pet's stay after they have arrived, we are unable to issue any refunds and the full amount due will be as per the original booking. This is because the space has been reserved for you. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Cancellation
To reserve a spot at Hamster Lodge™, a deposit equivalent to a one-day boarding fee is mandatory. This deposit becomes NON-refundable in any circumstances if the pet owner chooses to cancel the boarding session.
If boarding is cancelled within 72 hours, 50% of the total boarding fee for the entire duration will be charged.
Abandoned Pets
In the event that a pet owner fails to pick up their pet within 3 days of the agreed discharge date, despite attempts made by Hamster Lodge™ to contact the owner through the provided contact information, Hamster Lodge™ reserves the right to re-home the pet.
